The first step for someone new to Pilates is to go through a series of 1-on-1 private sessions. This is so that you can learn the basic Pilates exercises and more about how your body moves. You will have access to a 1x discounted offer of 8 Private Pilates Sessions.
Pilates aims to increase flexibility, re-align your posture while strengthening your core and giving you better balance. Your instructor will observe your posture, as well as how you walk, sit and move through space. There is great information hidden within these common tasks that can reveal what muscles are tight/weak and where your body is over/under-compensating. During your first 8 sessions, you will learn how to move differently, sit properly and align your body the way it should be – tension free.
Clinical Pilates begins with an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist. Subsequent sessions are facilitated with an integrated approach with the Physiotherapist and the Clinical Pilates Instructor (Physiotherapy Assistant) as a form of exercise rehab.
Our Clinical Pilates includes a series of mobility, fascia release and Rehab Pilates exercises designed specifically for your body’s needs. Sessions focus on the basic principles of breathing, spinal alignment, shoulder & neck placement and deep abdominal connection. We are able to modify exercises as required to accommodate your needs. Our goal is to build core stability, improve balance, increase strength, and flexibility for improved body alignment. Our Clinical Pilates has proven to enhance your recovery time and further your progress.
Your 1-on-1 Clinical Pilates session is offered in one of our private treatment rooms. In addition, you may qualify for coverage under extended health benefits (check your policy for coverage). Please contact our studio and we can assist you in booking your Clinical Pilates appointments.
